IMPORTANT INFORMATION
-
Does my dog get playtime outside? We have over 30 outside runs and a dog park adjacent to the kennel so all our boarders get outside at least five times per day. Several of those, depending on weather (not too hot, not too cold, not raining), are out in the play yards for up to an hour or more each time. We have found that being able to get outside and work off some energy stresses them less…which stresses us less. LOL
-
Does the kennel have a security system? It does and it was just updated in 2019. We also have a security video system in place to monitor the activity inside and outside the kennel. The Owners also live adjacent to the kennel property.
-
How big are your kennels? We have various size inside kennels: 4 ft X 5 ft -- 4 ft X 6 ft – 5 ft X 5 ft – 5 ft X 6 ft, some with gates between them so we can open it up to double the size. Most have access via a guillotine door to an additional run outside their kennel. These runs range from 4 ft X 8 ft to 5 ft X 12 ft to 8 ft X 10 ft. We have 3 private Suites: 5 ft X 9-1/2 ft (these also have a covered run outside and a private play area). Fufu Room (this is a separate area for really little dogs): 2 ft X 4 ft kennel area with separate hallway area to their own outside potty/play areas.
-
Will my little dog be housed next to a big dog?We have six separate areas in which we can separate dogs by size and temperament. We use several of these for little dogs, older dogs who can’t get around well, and sometimes dogs who have special needs such as blindness or partial paralysis.
-
What if my pet is on medication? We don’t charge extra for giving meds. We just need clear written instructions on how much and when to give them to your pet.
-
Does the kennel have heat and air conditioning?Absolutely. We have a large mix of dog breeds and sizes so we try to keep the temperature in a middle range comfortable for everyone. We have two separate heating and cooling systems so we can vary the temperature in different areas.
-
Can my dog use their guillotine door any time they want?75% of our standard dog kennels have guillotine doors with private outside potty runs. During the day, the guillotine doors are usually open unless it’s bitterly cold outside. When they are open, your dog is free to go out to the potty, run outside or stay inside. When we are not on site at the kennel your dog is inside his/her indoor kennel and the guillotine door is closed.
-
How far in advance do I need to make a reservation? We can usuallly accomodate all boarding requests but holidays and summer months are especially busy. For these times, you will need to call us several weeks before your trip to reserve your pet's spot. Booking early will ensure that you have a reservation, but if you don't have a prior reservation it's always worth a call to check availability since we sometimes have last-minute cancellations.
-
What vaccinations are required? For dogs we require Rabies, DHLPP, Canine Influenza, and Bordetella. For cats we require Rabies and FVRCP. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cats who have Feline HIV or Feline Leukemia.
-
What time can I drop off or pick up my pet?You can drop off or pick up from 7:30 to 9:30 am or 4:00 to 6:00 pm, seven days a week. There is no extra charge if you drop off in the AM on day 1 but don’t pick up until the PM on pick-up day. We charge by the number of nights stayed, not the number of days. We do limit drop off and pick up on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve day.
-
Do I need to bring food, bedding, or toys?"For pets with sensitive stomachs or allergies, it’s best you bring their normal food. If there’s no problem eating ours, there’s no extra charge. We have many types of bedding (cots, rugs, blankets, towels, etc.) so you don’t have to bring yours. If you do bring bedding, it needs to be something that can be washed in the washer. We have lots of toys (kongs, nylabones, etc.) for your pet to play with. You are welcome to bring a favorite from home, but we don’t allow rawhides. Be advised, however, that we may need to search for it when you pick up as your furry family member may take their toy into the play yard where another dog might pick it up and take it to their kennel.
-
Will my dog be kenneled with other dogs?Dogs from different households are never kenneled together. If we have your permission and the right mix of personalities, your dog may play with others outside, but in the inside kennel he/she will not be with someone else’s pet(s).
-
Can my young puppy be boarded with you?Maybe. Puppies need time for their immune systems to develop, get their vaccinations in place, and for them to learn a little about the world and be confident and unafraid of new situations. If your pup will be less than six months old at the time of boarding, you will need to check with your veterinarian to see if your puppy has adequate immune protection to be in a kennel atmosphere. We would then gladly board him/her because we love puppies and give them lots of extra attention…one of the benefits of having a kennel.
-
Do you board cats too?Yes, we have two separate areas for cats (away from the dogs).
-
What payment methods are available? We take cash, check, and credit card. We charge a 3% fee for credit card transactions.
